House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi woke up from her 30-year slumber last week and suddenly decided to be outraged by the Confederate statues standing in the halls of Congress. She finds them "reprehensible" and is demanding House Speaker Paul Ryan have them removed.
Her family tree history makes her outrage a bit awkward. Red Alert Politics dug up a bit of history to find that Pelosi's own father, Thomas D’Alesandro, Jr., dedicated a statue to Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee when he was the mayor of Baltimore.
“Today, with our nation beset by subversive groups and propaganda which seeks to destroy our national unity, we can look for inspiration to the lives of Lee and Jackson to remind us to be resolute and determined in preserving our sacred institutions,” D’Alesandro, Jr. said at the dedication ceremony.
The monuments in Baltimore were taken down last week under the purview of current mayor Catherine Pugh.
Now, Pelosi is demanding the statues in Congress have the same fate. She is also leading the charge to have President Trump censured his response to the white nationalist rally in Charlottesville.
As Katie noted, if Pelosi can't bear to look at the Confederate monuments she's walked by for 30 years, then why didn't she have them removed when she was speaker of the House?
Pelosi is not having a good August. After drawing mockery for her delayed Confederate statue outrage, the minority leader was also exposed as a secret fan of single payer health care, and then forgot what was included in the Democrats' new 'Better Deal' agenda. She had to refer to a pamphlet.

Working For America: President Trump's 19 Accomplishments, Thus Far

By John Porter

For your consideration, here are a few (only 19) of President Trump's accomplishments.

These are positive changes which have taken place in our nation since we elected him, and his inauguration to be president.

This, and many more (approximately 60) , in the face of all the stiff opposition and deliberate distractions he has had to battle from the alligators and snakes in the swamp.

I have personally researched these, and what you see here are facts.

Study them carefully, and if you don't like Donald Trump as president, ask yourself why you do not?

Are things he says more important to our nation then things he does?

He was elected to change and fix things, and so far he is certainly doing what he said he would.

These are the results of his hard work (basically, 20 hrs. a day, seven days a week), on our behalf, that you never hear about through the hullabaloo of a very fake and bias media.

For America, President Trump has accomplished:

    (1) Unemployment..4.4 percent – lowest in over 10 years, since May 2007,

   (2) Reinvestment by companies in America....Soft Bank $50B, Exxon $20B, Hyundai $3.1B, Apple $1B, Chrysler $1B, GM $1B, Bayer AG $1B, Toyota $600M, Toyota $600M...to name a few.

    (3) Budget Surplus....$182 Billion in April 2017

    (4) Stock Market....DOW at 22,000 +

    (5) Consumer Confidence..... Currently @125.6, hitting this number in March 2017, its highest point in 17 years

    (6) Legislation.....Worked on and signed 32 bills passed through congress. As of 17 May 2017, President Trump had signed 32 bills passed by Congress, a comparatively high number in such a short period of time (since Franklin Delano Roosevelt, signed 76 pieces of legislation, but in several more days, only Harry Truman, at 55, signed more (in the same period of time). At the time of the congressional August 2017 recess, that number was 43.

    (7) Supreme Court.....Appointed and got confirmed constitutionalist Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch.

    (8) Removed the U.S. from the TPP.....After 8 years of inaction.

    (9) Border Security.....53 percent fewer illegal border crossings and 40 percent more deportation of violent and repeat offenders

    (10) $100M to Flint, Michigan.....Water contamination crisis started in April 2014

    (11) Diplomacy.....Strengthening relationships with: Israel, several Middle Eastern nations, China, Japan, Russia, England, Tough on North Korea, Tough on Syria, Freed Humanitarian workers from Egypt.

    (12) Government Agencies.....Trimming the fat at many overblown government agencies and promoting small business growth by reigning in the EPA.

    (13) Energy.....Finished Dakota Access Pipeline & reversed Obama’s “Land Grab” EO, freeing us to use our own natural resources, Put hundreds of coal miners back to work by deregulating the industry.

    (14) RESTORED LAW AND ORDER TO IMMIGRATION: President Trump has prioritized enforcing immigration laws in his first six months to protect all Americans, ensuring that our immigration system treats everyone fairly.

  • President Trump instituted tough immigration policies that have reduced illegal border crossings by 53 percent compared to the same time last year.
    • The President ordered the hiring of 10,000 new Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers, including 5,000 additional border patrol agents.
  • Within the first 100 days of President Trump signing his executive orders on immigration enforcement, ICE conducted nearly 40 percent more Enforcement and Removal Operations compared to the same time last year.
    • Arrests of convicted criminal aliens climbed by nearly 20 percent in this time compared to the same time last year.
  • In fiscal year 2017, ICE has removed over 2,700 criminal gang members, compared to 2,057 criminal gang members in all of fiscal year 2016.
    • ICE has specifically targeted MS-13 criminal gang members for removal on immigration violations.
  • To jump-start construction on the border wall, the President ordered the Department of Homeland Security to use $100 million of unspent appropriations in its account for border security, fencing and infrastructure.
  • President Trump directed executive agencies to employ all lawful means to enforce the immigration laws of the United States, including clamping down on sanctuary cities.
    • Attorney General Jeff Sessions implemented new charging guidelines to end catch-and-release policies.
  • President Trump ordered the creation of the Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement (VOICE) office at DHS, ensuring that our Government can no longer ignore the victims of criminal acts by illegal aliens.

     (15) PROVIDING FOR OUR NATION’S VETERANS: President Trump is making sure our veterans get the care they deserve after they have sacrificed for our country.

  • President Trump signed the Veterans Accountability and Whistle blower Protection Act, enabling senior Veterans Affairs officials to fire failing employees while establishing important safeguards to protect whistle blowers.
  • Under President Trump, Department of Veterans Affairs fired over 500 employees, suspended 200, and demoted 33, as part of President Trump’s efforts to restore integrity and accountability to a department charged with supporting our Nation’s heroes.
    • (22 senior leaders were disciplined.)
  • The Veterans Affairs administration is shifting veterans’ electronic medical records to the same system used by the Defense Department, ending a decades-old rift in sharing information between the two agencies.
  • President Trump signed legislation allowing our veterans to receive care outside of the Veterans Affairs medical system.
  • The Department of Veterans Affairs has acted to increase transparency and accountability by launching an online “Access and Quality Tool” to provide veterans a way to access wait time and quality of care data.

    (16) AMERICA FIRST FOREIGN POLICY AND NATIONAL SECURITY: In the first six months of his Administration, President Trump has put America First in world affairs and national security.

  • During his historic speech in Poland, President Trump reasserted that America would defend its interests and allies after years of neglect by the previous Administration.
  • President Trump brokered a ceasefire in southwest Syria as part of his commitment to end the conflict, reduce human suffering, and defeat ISIS.
  • During his first international trip, President Trump supported the opening of a new “Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology” in Saudi Arabia, created to empower Muslim-majority countries to more effectively combat radicalization.
  • President Trump has increased pressure on Iran to end its destructive and destabilizing actions in the Middle East, including its continued ballistic missile research.
    • The Department of the Treasury sanctioned over 25 entities and individuals involved in Iran’s ballistic missile program, ensuring our ability to monitor potentially malicious actors while preventing future acts of terrorism.
    • This week, the United States sanctioned sixteen entities and individuals that have supported Iran’s military and Revolutionary Guard Corps in the development of drones, fast attack boats, and other military equipment.
  • President Trump has allowed the military to push back against threats to our interests and allies.
    • In his first six months, President Trump worked with our partners and allies in the Middle East to defeat ISIS, leading to Iraqi forces recapturing Mosul.
    • After the Syrian regime used chemical weapons against civilians, President Trump authorized strikes against the airbase that launched the chemical attacks, demonstrating our national commitment to preventing further atrocities.
    • President Trump has lifted restrictions that had prevented the Secretary of Defense and our commanders in the field from fully using their judgement and expertise.

(17) A FREE AND FAIR TRADE AGENDA: President Trump is putting America First in trade negotiations, pursuing reciprocal agreements with our trading partners so everyone benefits.

  • One of President Trump’s first actions was to withdraw from the Trans-Pacific Partnership, after the Obama Administration’s efforts failed to protect American workers.
  • President Trump announced he will renegotiate the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) to better reflect our modern economy while benefitting all parties so involved.
    • This week, the United States Trade Representative released its objectives for upcoming NAFTA negotiations.
  • Last week, the President began the process of renegotiating the United States-Korea Free Trade Agreement.
  • Negotiations President Trump started with China on economic cooperation have already produced results for American businesses.
    • For the first time in 14 years, American beef imports have returned to China.
    • China is welcome to negotiate contracts to import American liquefied natural gas.
  • President Trump delivered on his campaign promise to roll back the Obama Administration’s bad deal on Cuba that benefitted the Cuban regime at the expense of the Cuban people.

     (18) OPENING UP AMERICAN ENERGY: In six months, President Trump has turned around America’s policy on energy production after years of opposition.

  • President Trump has acted aggressively to increase exports of our energy resources to a global market.
    • Updated guidance from the Treasury Department to allow the United States to export coal.
    • Expedited the permitting and approval processes of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) terminals and exports, including the approval of the Lake Charles LNG terminal in Louisiana.
  • President Trump has unleashed oil and gas development in the United States by expanding access to resources and the infrastructure needed to get them to market.
    • Approved the Keystone XL and Dakota Access pipelines, creating over 42,000 jobs and $2 billion in earnings.
      • Signed an Executive Order mandating future pipeline work to be done by American workers and with American steel.
    • Expedited new pipeline approval and production, such as the New Burgos Pipeline to Mexico.
    • Signed an Executive Order to extend offshore oil and gas drilling and reissued a leasing program to develop offshore resources.
    • Boosting oil and gas development on Federal lands.
  • The Environmental Protection Agency is reconsidering an Obama-era rule on greenhouse gas emissions that is estimated to cost oil and natural gas operators as much as $530 million annually.
  • President Trump kept his campaign promise to coal miners and rolled back the previous Administration’s “Stream Protection Rule,” which targeted the beleaguered industry with estimated costs of at least $81 million a year.
  • (19) CUTTING DOWN JOB KILLING REGULATIONS: Just six months in office, President Trump has taken historic action to eliminate wasteful and costly regulations that have stood in the way of hardworking Americans.
  • The American Action Forum estimates a potential $70 billion in costs reductions from President Trump’s actions to cut back regulations.
  • President Trump has signed 14 Congressional Review Act resolutions into law, ending burdensome Obama-era rules and regulations, more than all other Presidents combined, rolling back over 800 Obama Era regulations.
  • By withdrawing from the Paris Climate Accord, President Trump protected America from a bad deal that would have harmed our economy.
    • According to a study by NERA Consulting, meeting the Obama Administration’s obligations under the Paris Climate Accord could have cost the United States economy nearly $3 trillion.
    • According to the same study, 6.5 million industrial sector jobs could have been lost, including 3.1 million manufacturing sector jobs.
  • In order to control regulatory costs, President Trump signed an Executive Order mandating that for every one new regulation, two old regulations must be eliminated.
  • Through infrastructure reform and investment, the Trump Administration has dramatically reduced permit approvals for projects from 10 and 20 years to 2 years, spurring investment and job creation.

I ask you, after a careful study of these facts, not political propaganda, which of them do you not agree with and why?
Just answer yourself, not me.

While we’re toppling offensive symbols, what about the Democratic Party?

By JOHN KASS

Democrat President John F. Kennedy and South Carolina Democrat Governor Fritz Hollins Celebrate The Confederate Flag

History is important, but history can also be quite offensive.
But there’s one thing wrong with Sharpton. It’s not that he goes too far. It’s that he doesn’t go far enough.
Because if he and others of the Cultural Revolution were being intellectually honest, they’d demand that along with racist statues, something else would be toppled.
And this, too, represents much of America’s racist history:
The Democratic Party.
The Democratic Party historically is the party of slavery. The Democratic Party is the party of Jim Crow laws. The Democratic Party fought civil rights for a century.
And so by rights — or at least by the standards established by the Cultural Revolutionaries of today’s American left — we should ban the Democratic Party.
Not only get rid of it in the present, but strike its very name from the history books, and topple all Democratic statues of leaders who benefited, prospered and became wealthy by cleaving to the party. And shame Democrats until they confess the truth of it.
The Democratic Party’s military arm in the South was the KKK. The Democratic Party opposed the 14th and 15th Amendments to the Constitution, making the former slaves citizens of the United States and giving them the vote.
If the new Cultural Revolution was serious, wouldn’t it also demand that the Democratic Party be put in a museum somewhere, away from decent people, along with those Confederate statues?
We could put Democrats in exhibits, behind glass, watching white political bosses chomp cigars and pass out goodies for votes, as minorities were relegated, as they are today, to failing schools and lost educational opportunity and neighborhoods that have become killing fields for the young and old.
And in great museums, the Democrats could be studied, safely, without endangering the sensibilities of the children.
Hillary Clinton Gets A Kiss From Senator Robert Byrd, A Former Recruiter For The Ku Klux Klan Who She Praised As A Great Leader
We might even peer down on an animatronic Democratic Sen. Robert Byrd, once a leader of the KKK. And with him, prominent animatronic Democrats who, just a few short years ago, said wonderful, moving things about Byrd after his funeral.
I’m convinced.

Charlottesville: A Democratic Party Creation

By John Porter

The Democratic Party is the origin and perpetuator of hate and anti-American violence and should be removed.

Subvert: to overthrow, destroy, undermine, or destabilize an established or existing system, especially a legally constituted government or a set of beliefs. (Webster's College Dictionary)

This is a time which calls for complete and unabashed honesty with ourselves.
What are we really witnessing with the events of violence being carried out in our beloved America?
The vile and putrid display in Charlottesville, Virginia is but one more event of such violence intended to subvert our Republican form of government of Individual Freedom into one of a Socialist dictatorship, such as we have witnessed in many countries of the world, with Venezuela being the most recent.
What I believe we are seeing has very little, if anything at all, to do with Robert E. Lee, slavery, the Civil War, race, color, religion, etc.
These are but flashpoints for a much bigger and more sinister movement underway to destroy our government of Individual Freedom and Responsibility.
For the past seventy five years it has been going on, through national politics, supported most notably by the National Democrat Party with a few in the National Republican Party with their beliefs in the Federal Government having close to total control of all aspects of the lives of individuals.
It is all about control. Should government be in control or the people in control?
We must be reminded of the things most needed to subvert a government or system, i.e. control the media, control the minds of the young through the school systems, destroy the culture or history of a nation. (The root cause of the violence in Charlottesville , VA. and other southern cities is the destruction of American History).
The media is now controlled by having infiltrated the executive level of major news outlets, the thinking of the young through school teachers and college professors, the destruction of culture and history through both being eliminated from school books via Common Core and such.
The root cause of the violence in Charlottesville , VA. and other southern cities is the destruction of American History.
In the past it has been a slow peaceful approach of the Democrat Liberal Progressives.
NOW COMES THE RISE OF THE VIOLENT LEFT.
They are led by basically two groups. Black Lives Matter is the most notable group, but the most dangerous and fastest growing is known as ANTIFA (Anti-Fascist Action).
Their violent tactics have elicited substantial support from the mainstream Progressive left, both in government and the media.
As repugnant as they are, the white supremacist group acquired a legal permit, issued to them by the city, to be in Charlottesville to peacefully protest the removal of the statue of Robert E. Lee.
The ANTIFA did not have a permit to counter protest. They were sent in to cause exactly what happened. This is not the first time the two groups have had such clashes.
This group (ANTIFA) uses these type events to cause riots and violence so as to further subvert our system of government and the legitimate election of a president.
The real danger is that they are supported by the Progressive Liberals of the Democrat Party and also those within the Republican Party who wish to see President Trump driven from office.
President Trump is exactly right, there are two sides to this Charlottesville story, but you are only hearing about the repugnant white supremacists and not the equally repugnant ANTIFA group.
It is widely reported the ANTIFA group is heavily financed by George Soros, and he hasn't denied it.
They have been tagged a Democrat Terror group and is leading what many are calling “The Resistance.”
We have heard Hillary Clinton speak of "The Resistance."
Haven't you all asked yourself in the past, why the Democrats and the so called, mainstream media have not publicly condemned the riots in different places?
Their fight is against President Trump, and destroying his "America First" agenda is their goal.
Their goal is to make America “ungovernable” for the president of the United States.
The swamp is deep and very wide. The Alligators and poisonous vipers are fighting back hard.
If you have ever stood for anything in your life, you must stand with our president now in these perilous times when he and our Republic are under attack.

Statues of Limitation
By Steven Hayward

So we seem to be on our way to tearing down every statue related to the Democratic Party’s largest achievement in American history—the Confederate States of America.
Funny how the Confederate battle flag, and now statues, didn’t start to come down until Republicans became ascendant in southern states.
Democrats who had a monopoly grip on the South for decades had lots of time to take these steps, but didn’t. You’d almost think they were opportunists.
Rich Lowry pointed out that there is a statue in Baltimore of Roger Taney, and lo and behold it was taken down last night.

Taney did more than perhaps any other figure to propel the nation into civil war with his reckless decision in Dred Scott that “the negro has no rights which the white man is bound to respect,” which by implication legalized slavery throughout the entire U.S. and prohibited Congress henceforth from stopping its spread in the territories.

All that was needed, as Lincoln pointed out, was one more case extending the principle Taney laid out to make slavery legal throughout the North.

Had not the war intervened, maybe we would have had Ubergefell as the sequel to Dred Scott.

There may be a larger parallel between that time and today.
I often like to share with students in class the summation of the defense lawyer in the case of Jacob Gruber, a Methodist minister who was put on trial in Frederick, Maryland, in 1818 on the charge of inciting a slave revolt.
Gruber had spoken at a large outdoor meeting in Hagerstown about “the nation sin” of slavery, and as the large audience included several hundred slaves, Gruber was promptly arrested.
Gruber’s was exactly the kind of abolitionist speech that Democrats in the 1850s like James Buchanan denounced as causing sectional rifts.
Here is the climax of the closing argument to the jury that Gruber’s defense attorney offered:
Any man has a right to publish his opinions on that subject [slavery] whenever he pleases. It is a subject of national concern, and may at all times be freely discussed. Mr. Gruber did quote the language of our great act of national independence, and insisted on the principles contained in that venerated instrument. He did rebuke those masters, who, in the exercise of power, are deaf to the calls of humanity; and he warned them of the evils they might bring upon themselves. He did speak with abhorrence of those reptiles, who live by trading in human flesh, and enrich themselves by tearing the husband from the wife—the infant from the bosom of the mother: and this I am instructed was the head and front of his offending. Shall I content myself with saying he had a right to say this? That there is no law to punish him? So far is he from being the object of punishment in any form of proceeding, that we are prepared to maintain the same principles, and to use, if necessary, the same language here in the temple of justice, and in the presence of those who are the ministers of the law. A hard necessity, indeed, compels us to endure the evil of slavery for a time. It was imposed upon us by another nation, while we were yet in a state of colonial vassalage. It cannot be easily, or suddenly removed. Yet while it continues it is a blot on our national character, and every real lover of freedom confidently hopes that it will be effectually, though it must be gradually, wiped away; and earnestly looks for the means, by which this necessary object may be best attained. And until it shall be accomplished: until the time shall come when we can point without a blush, to the language held in the Declaration of Independence, every friend of humanity will seek to lighten the galling chain of slavery, and better, to the utmost of his power, the wretched condition of the slave.
Such was Mr. Gruber’s object in that part of his sermon, of which I am now speaking. Those who have complained of him, and reproached him, will not find it easy to answer him: unless complaints, reproaches and persecution shall be considered an answer.
Students often assume that Gruber’s lawyer must have been Abraham Lincoln, as his argument sounds so much like Lincoln’s line of argument in the 1850s. Lincoln was precocious, to be sure, but since he was born in 1809, he would have been just nine years old at the time of the Gruber trial.
No; instead, Gruber’s lawyer was. . . Roger Taney.
Which leads to the next question: what the hell happened to Taney?
That’s a long story, but can be summarized briefly by the proposition that Democrats ceased to believe that slavery was a national sin—indeed they came to believe it was a positive good. (See Calhoun, Alexander Stephens, George Fitzhugh, etc.), and the first version of identity politics was born.
In other words, Democrats aren’t that much different today than they were in the 1850s.
To put it still one more way, when thinking about what the hell happened to Taney, you can begin to make out parallels to what the hell has happened to Democrats more recently.

P.S. Gruber was acquitted.

Oh My: Leftist Southern Poverty Law Center Mentions Charlottesville White Supremacist Organizer as Former Occupy Wall Street, Obama Supporter

By Katie Pavlich

According to the leftist Southern Poverty Law Center [SPLC], one of the white supremacist organizers of Saturday's rally in Charlottesville is a former Occupy Wall Street activist and supporter of Barack Obama.

Jason Kessler is listed with SPLC as an "extremist." Here's an excerpt from the information about Kessler published on their website
Relying on familiar tropes of “white genocide” and “demographic displacement,” white nationalist blogger Jason Kessler seeks notoriety with his "Unite the Right" march in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Rumors abound on white nationalist forums that Kessler’s ideological pedigree before 2016 was less than pure and seem to point to involvement in the Occupy movement and past support for President Obama.
At one recent speech in favor of Charlottesville’s status as a sanctuary city, Kessler live-streamed himself as an attendee questioned him and apologized for an undisclosed spat during Kessler’s apparent involvement with Occupy. Kessler appeared visibly perturbed by the woman’s presence and reminders of their past association.
Those speaking at the Charlottesville “Unite the Right” event include Richard Spencer, who spoke at the first Charlottesville rally, Mike Enoch of The Right Stuff, Matthew Heimbach of the white nationalist Traditionalist Workers Party, Augustus Invictus, a pagan neo-fascist who has pledged to bring about a second Civil War, and Michael Hill of the League of the South.
Despite overwhelming condemnation from Republicans and conservatives of white nationalism and what happened in Charlottesville, the left and their friends in the media have tried to pin the weekend's violence on the mainstream right. It turns out, they should be looking further left.
Over to you Durham, North Carolina.

Horist: Why is Left Wing Violence Acceptable?

By Larry Horist

Left wing violence does not seem to be as serious to mainstream media

In response to the tragedy in Charlottesville, Virginia, President Trump condemned the acts of violence in the “strongest terms.”  He expanded his condemnation to include ALL who promote or carry out violence.  Seems like a reasonable comment.
For the next several days, and counting, the left wing news media spun a narrative that by not mentioning the perpetrators and provocateurs by name, the President was actually endorsing the white supremacy organizations.  To reinforce this claim, they dredged up previous times where they, themselves, interpreted Trump’s words to mean something other than their defined meaning.  Sure, he condemned David Duke, but not quickly enough.  He repeatedly preached against violence, but not in the right words. It was what Trump did not say that became the point of criticism.  Consider this point again.  The President strong words of condemnation against those who perpetrated violence in Charlottesville and any others who have similar motives had no meaning, but what he did not say did.
His words were described as a “dog whistle,” meaning that his actual words of condemnation were to be interpreted as a subtle show of support for the hate mongers.  Dog whistle is a nonsense term that self-justifies interpreting a person’s words to any meaning a critic might prefer.  A dog whistle is for dogs.
The Presidents condemnation was reiterated by virtually every person in his administration, many naming the offensive organizations.  This included Vice President Pence, National Security Advisor H. R. McMaster and others.  Among those strongly condemning the action AND the organizations was Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who immediately launched a federal investigation.
In the perverse world inside the New York City/D.C. press bubble, these condemnations by Trump administration officials, including his most senior staff, were interpreted as repudiations of the President’s statements.  Even after the White House issued a statement on behalf of the President – his official statement – repudiating the white supremacist groups by name, the major media continued to malign the President by ignoring his more specific statements.
The hyperbole of the media, especially CNN and MSNBC, was boundless.  The mainstream media, with their panels of parroting pundits, began to characterize the President with offensive appellations that are usually the rhetoric of the absurdly ignorant.  Claiming that Trump’s failure to read the script they offered up in hindsight, major news personalities called him a racist, a Nazi, a white supremacist, a provocateur of violence.  They lashed out at anyone who would not take up their intellectually corrupt cause in demonizing Trump to the point of impeachment or worse.  They descended on the President with all the table etiquette of a pack of jackals.
They assassinated his character over condemning violent groups “on many sides.”  The fact that they found those words so offensive is due to their acquiescence, if not endorsement, of the preponderance of political violence emanating from the radical left.  For proof, one only need review the NY/DC media’s coverage of the attack on Republican congressman or their limited, if any, coverage on the calls for the random killing of police officers by left wing hate groups.  For years, the mainstream media has minimized the meaning of the ubiquitous left wing violence.  Campus riots and the trail of crime and violence in the wake of Occupy Wall Street were largely brushed off.  The left and its media spokespeople have no moral pedestal from which to pass judgment.  For these reasons, the left wing press could not address the other side of the confrontation and took umbrage when Trump did.
One thing I learned on the streets of Chicago is that when you have two gangs egging for a fight, you will get a fight.  The reason for the conflict and who threw the first punch – or nowadays – fired the first shot is generally unknown and pretty much unimportant.  Most times people wound up with bloody noses or black eyes, but sometimes people died.
In many ways, the tragedy that occurred in Charlottesville was similar to those urban gang wars.  By both their nature and its intent the hateful white supremacist organizations are provocative and prone to violent confrontation.  This is common knowledge and has been as long as I can remember.
I recall the ragtag remnants of the staunchly anti-Semitic KKK marching in Skokie, Illinois – arguably one of the most Jewish communities in America. It was not their intention to protest, but to provoke.  The arrival in Charlottesville was no different.
What gets lost in the news – intentionally, I believe – is the motivation and intention of some of those who came to Charlottesville to protest.  Most came to peacefully demonstrate and show the world that the hate mongers do not represent American values.  Some, however, were there to provoke physical confrontation as they have done in other areas of the country.  And they did.  To doubt the culpability of the rally protesters, one only need recall the violent confrontation that commenced long before the fatal act of terrorism.  This was a fight that could not have been more predictable if it had been advertised as a boxing card event.
Two hateful elements met on the streets of Charlottesville egging for a fight, much like those urban gangs of my youth. Unfortunately, the police were not adequately prepared to impose order.  Like any such confrontation, shouts led to shoves and the cycle of violence was begun.  When Trump condemned ALL those who promote and provoke violence, he is not wrong.

Trump Tells the Truth, and the Press Goes Crazy

By John Hinderaker

This afternoon President Trump conducted an impromptu press conference at Trump Tower. Asked about Charlottesville, Trump said there was blame on both sides. The press went ballistic:

A combative President Donald Trump insisted Tuesday “there is blame on both sides” for the deadly violence last weekend in Charlottesville, Virginia, appearing to once again equate the actions of white supremacist groups and those protesting them.
In the AP’s telling, the antifas were just “protesting” the white supremacists. No mention of fighting, no reference to baseball bats.
The president’s comments effectively wiped away the more conventional statement he delivered at the White House one day earlier when he branded members of the KKK, neo-Nazis and white supremacists who take part in violence as “criminals and thugs.”
Why? There is no inconsistency between neo-Nazis being criminals and thugs and antifas sharing the blame for the violence in Charlottesville. They are criminals and thugs, too.
The president’s retorts Tuesday suggested he had been a reluctant participant in that cleanup effort. During an impromptu press conference in the lobby of his Manhattan skyscraper, he praised his original response to Charlottesville and angrily blamed liberal groups in addition to white supremacists for the violence. Some of those protesting the rally to save a statue of Confederate General Robert E. Lee were “also very violent,” he said.
“There are two sides to a story,” he said. He added that some facts about the violence still aren’t known.
The AP wants us to believe that Trump’s statements were a disaster. His aides “stood in silence,” John Kelly “crossed his arms and stared down at his shoes,” Sarah Sanders “looked around the room trying to make eye contact with other senior aides.” And “[o]ne young staffer stood with her mouth agape.
The AP never questions, however, that what Trump said was true. In fact, it was indisputable. The antifas, a fascist group that has also rioted at Washington, Berkeley, Seattle and other places, typically wears black clothes and masks, arms its members with baseball bats, ax handles and 2x4s, and often attacks random people on the street. Its behavior in Charlottesville was not much better than usual. New York Times reporter Sheryl Gay Stolberg tweeted, “The hard left seemed as hate-filled as alt-right. I saw club-wielding ‘antifa’ beating white nationalists being led out of the park.”

The press calls the fascists “counter-demonstrators”

Anyone who has watched videos of the Charlottesville riot knows that Trump’s description is accurate. In this video, you can see antifa fascists initiating violence against both white supremacists and the police:

Who, exactly, brings bats and clubs to a demonstration?

Here again, you see the so-called counter-demonstrators initiate the violence:

This longer video shows a confrontation that seems to have been initiated by the white supremacists. Toward the end, multiple black-clad and helmeted antifas assault an old man:
Why does the press go crazy over a statement by President Trump that is patently true? “[T]here is blame on both sides.” Because left-wing violence is becoming a prominent feature of our political scene, and the Democratic Party press wants to cover it up. Murderers inspired by Black Lives Matter have attempted to kill, and in several instances have actually killed, policemen. Antifa fascists, doing their best Nazi brownshirt imitation, have rioted in cities around the country, smashing windows and attacking passers-by. And, of course, Democratic Party activist and Bernie Sanders campaign worker James Hodgkinson attempted to assassinate Congressional Republicans, grievously wounding the House Majority Whip, Steve Scalise.
This violence is unhelpful to the left-wing cause, so reporters and editors suppress references to it. They were delighted to have an opportunity to report, for a change, on right-wing violence perpetrated by James Fields. And they don’t want truth, or any sort of nuance, to get in the way.
This is, I think, a winning issue for President Trump and his allies. Any time the Democrats scream, “You can’t say that!” the best policy is to go on saying it.
UPDATE: Additional quotes from yesterday’s mini-presser, not referenced by the AP:
“Let me ask you this. What about the fact they came charging — that they came charging, with clubs in their hands, swinging clubs? Do they have any problem? I think they do. So, you know, as far as I’m concerned, that was a horrible, horrible day. Wait a minute. I’m not finished. I’m not finished, fake news. That was a horrible day.
“Is it the same level as neo-Nazis?” a reporter asked.
“I will tell you something,” Trump said.
“I watched those very closely, much more closely than you people watched it, and you have – You had a group on one side that was bad and you had a group on the other side that was also very violent. And nobody wants to say that, but I’ll say it right now. You had a group, you had a group on the other side that came charging in without a permit and they were very, very violent.”
Trump is right on the money. Liberals hate it when he tells the truth!
