The Mojo of Trumponomics

By Stephen Moore

T.S. Eliot famously wrote that April is the cruelest month, but when it comes to America’s fiscal picture, nothing could be further from the truth about this past April. The latest government numbers confirm that last month was a blockbuster for growth, federal revenues, and deficit reduction.

One of the key principles of Trumponomics is that faster economic growth can help solve a multitude of other social and economic problems, from poverty to inner-city decline to lowering the national debt.

We’re not quite at a sustained elevated growth rate of 3 percent yet, but the latest economy snapshot tells us we are knocking on the door. The growth rate over the last four quarters came in at 2.9 percent, which was higher than any of the eight years of Barack Obama’s presidency.

Halfway through this current quarter, which began on April 1, the Atlanta Federal Reserve estimates growth at 4 percent. If that persists through the end of June, we will have reached an average growth rate of 3 percent under President Donald Trump.

Not bad, given that nearly every liberal critic trashed the president’s campaign forecast of 3 percent to 4 percent growth as an impossible dream.

Economists such as Larry Summers, Obama’s first chief economist, gloomily declared that we were mired in a new era of “secular stagnation” and that 3 percent growth was unachievable.

Paul Krugman of The New York Times said it was more likely we would see flying cars than 3 percent to 4 percent growth.

Now for the even better news.

We are already starting to see a fiscal dividend from Trump’s tax, energy, and pro-business policies.

The Congressional Budget Office reports that tax revenues in April—by far the biggest month of the year for tax collections because of the April 15 filing deadline—totaled $515 billion, which was a robust 13 percent rise in receipts over last year.

MoneyWeek reports that the $218 billion monthly surplus (revenues over expenditures) this April was the largest ever, with the previous record being $180 billion in 2001. (April is always the one surplus month.)

Here’s the simple lesson: more growth, more tax revenue.

But there’s another lesson, and it is about how wrong the bean counters in Congress were who said this tax bill would “cost” the Treasury $1.5 trillion to $2 trillion in lost revenues over the next decade.

If the higher growth rate that Trump has already accomplished remains in place, then the impact will be well over $3 trillion of more revenue and thus lower debt levels over the decade. Putting people to work is the best way to balance the budget. Period.

Critics will dismiss the importance of these higher revenue collections by arguing that the new receipts are for 2017 tax payments, which don’t take account of the tax cut that passed in December.

This ignores that some of the growth we have seen was a result of the anticipation of the tax cut. Moreover, the fact that the tax cuts are just sinking in means that we should get even higher growth rates for the next several years at least.

Alas, it is not all good news in the April surprise. The inexcusable omnibus spending bill increased federal spending by some $300 billion in 2018, and we are starting to feel the impact of that splurge. Federal outlays are up 8.7 percent in April.

That’s unforgivable, given that Republicans run everything in Washington these days.

No one thought that Trump could ramp up the growth rate to 3 percent or that his policies would boost federal revenues. But he is doing just that—which is why all that the Democrats and the media want to talk about these days is Russia and Stormy Daniels.

Roseanne Demeans Black Democrat-Outrage; Democrats Demean Black Republicans-Silence

By Frances Rice

With the headline “ABC cancels 'Roseanne' after Barr'sracist tweet,” FOX News reported that the wildly popular reboot of "Roseanne" was cancelled within hours after Roseanne Barr posted a racist tweet about former President Obama's aide Valerie Jarrett.

According to that article, ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey said in a statement: "Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show."

Condemnation of Roseanne in every media outlet was swift and vicious.  The social media world exploded with collective outrage over Roseanne’s racist tweet for which she apologized, but was not forgiven.

Roseanne earned her rebuke for using racist language to describe a Black Democrat.

This incident brings into sharp focus a racism double standard.

Anyone who “touches the third rail of race” and dares attack a Black Democrat with a racist epithet is roundly denounced and driven from the public square.

Yet, there is near silence when Democrats attack Black Republicans with the same type of vile racist epithets that Democrats have used to demean all Blacks since the days of slavery.

Below is an article “Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas: Northern Liberals Are More Racist Toward Me Than Southerners” by Steve Straub that was published on February 12, 2014. Nothing has changed.

Further below are just some of the racist language aimed at Black Republicans and racist imagery of Black Republicans published on the Internet and in influential newspapers, including the New York Times and the Washington Post.

Liberal Democrats and their media allies accept the most disgusting racist attacks, just as long as the targets are Black conservatives.

One reprehensible example, as shown below, is the visceral hatred expressed by Blogger Eric L. Wattree who wrote on his Blog: “If the GOP had ever taken the time to truly get to know the Black community, they’d know that the only thing more toxic to Black people than a flat-out racist, is a Black conservative.

Where is the outrage?

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas: Northern Liberals Are More Racist Toward Me Than Southerners

February 12, 2014

This will likely come as a surprise to no one who pays attention!

Via Yahoo News::

“My sadness is that we are probably today more race and difference-conscious than I was in the 1960s when I went to school. To my knowledge, I was the first black kid in Savannah, Georgia, to go to a white school. Rarely did the issue of race come up,” Thomas said during a chapel service hosted by the nondenominational Christian university.

“Now, name a day it doesn’t come up. Differences in race, differences in sex, somebody doesn’t look at you right, somebody says something. Everybody is sensitive. If I had been as sensitive as that in the 1960s, I’d still be in Savannah.

"Every person in this room has endured a slight. Every person. Somebody has said something that has hurt their feelings or did something to them — left them out.

“That’s a part of the deal,” he added….

“The worst I have been treated was by northern liberal elites. The absolute worst I have ever been treated,” Thomas said. “The worst things that have been done to me, the worst things that have been said about me, by northern liberal elites, not by the people of Savannah, Georgia.”

As one of six Catholics on the court, Thomas also addressed the role his faith plays in his work as a justice.

“I quite frankly don’t know how you do these hard jobs without some faith. I don’t know. Other people can come to you and explain it to you. I have no idea,” he said. “I don’t know how an oath becomes meaningful unless you have faith. Because at the end you say, ‘So help me God.’ And a promise to God is different from a promise to anyone else.”

RACIST LANGUAGE AND IMAGERY DIRECTED BY DEMOCRATS AT BLACK REPUBLICANS

Left wing blogger Steve Gillard defaced Michael Steele (former Maryland Lieutenant Governor, former Maryland Republican Senate candidate and former Republican National Committee Chairman) and portrayed him as a "sambo", "minstrel".

NEWS BUSTERS: Former Washington Post cartoonist Ted Rall depicted Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas as a “lawn jockey,” just like Democrats demeaned Black people during the era of slavery.

Former Florida U S Representative Allen West was demeaned by a left-wing Blogger of a Blogsite with the title “ Zero ToleranceFor Silence” as “wackadoodle congressman Allen West of Florida.”

Eric L. Wattree on his Blog: The Wattree Chronicle depicts former Republican Presidential Candidate Herman Cain as a “dummy.” His Blogsite post is filled with racist vitriol aimed squarely at Black Conservatives. Here is just a sample: “If the GOP had ever taken the time to truly get to know the Black community, they’d know that the only thing more toxic to Black people than a flat-out racist, is a Black conservative.

The above two cartoons were published in the Washington Post and depict former Secretary of State under President George W. Bush as an ignorant parrot and a bare foot “mammy,” just as Black women were portrayed by Democrats during the days of the discriminatory Jim Crow laws enacted by Democrats.

Far Left Winger Dave Granlund showed his total disdain for former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice with the above two cartoons.

Socialism’s Victory Tour

By John Hinderaker | POWERLINE

The liberal press tells us that socialism is ascendant. College students, apparently, are largely socialists. And some think that Howard Zinn, Noam Chomsky, etc. are dominant, no matter how stupid they may be.

I can’t explain why so many American liberals don’t care whether socialism works.

Maybe liberals are just dumb.

Perhaps there is another explanation that I can’t think of.

But happily, most people care about what works.

Michael Ramirez comments on the ongoing disaster that is Venezuela.

You know when you are living in a socialist country when there are no more pets, because they have been eaten.  Also, no more rats: people fight over their dead carcasses, hoping for a main course for dinner. That is the context of Michael’s most recent cartoon.

IN OTHER NEWS:

A MESSAGE FROM THE WHITE HOUSE

President Donald J. Trump, Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium
Annapolis, Maryland
May 25th

·       In recent years and even decades, too many people have forgotten that truth.  They’ve forgotten that our ancestors trounced an empire, tamed a continent, and triumphed over the worst evils in history.

·    ·       In every generation, there have been cynics and critics who try to tear down America.  It's not working too well lately. But in recent years, the problem grew worse.  A growing number used their platforms to denigrate America’s incredible heritage, challenge America’s sovereignty, and weaken America’s pride.

·  ·         But we know the truth, we will speak the truth, and we will defend that truth.  America is the greatest fighting force for peace, justice, and freedom in the history of the world. And in case you haven't noticed, we have become a lot stronger lately.

·  ·         We are not going to apologize for America; we are going to stand up for America.  No more apologies. We are going to stand up for our citizens.  We are going to stand up for our values.  And we are going to stand up for our men and women in uniform. Because we know that a nation must have pride in its history to have confidence in its future.

·  ·         We are the nation that built the highways; the railroads; the Empire State Building, in one year; the Golden Gate Bridge; and we are the nation that built the Panama Canal.  We trekked the mountains, explored the oceans, and settled the vast frontier.  We won two World Wars, defeated communism and fascism, and put a man on the face of the moon.  We cured disease, pioneered science, and produced timeless works of art that inspire the human soul.

·   ·        Each of you enters service at a truly exciting time for our country.  For we are witnessing the great reawakening of the American spirit and of American might.

·    We have rediscovered our identity, regained our stride, and we're proud again.  Prosperity is booming at home, our economy is the strongest it's ever been, and our country has regained the respect that we used have long ago abroad.  Yes, they're respecting us again.  Yes, America is back.

Trump pardons late black boxing champion Jack Johnson

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday issued a posthumous pardon to boxer Jack Johnson, the first African-American heavyweight champion, who was jailed a century ago due to his relationship with a white woman.

“I believe Jack Johnson is a worthy person to receive a pardon, to correct a wrong in our history,” Trump said.

In a case that came to symbolize racial injustice, Johnson was arrested in 1912 with Lucille Cameron, who later became his wife, for violating the Mann Act. The law was passed two years earlier and made it a crime to take a woman across state lines for immoral purposes.

Johnson died in 1946.

In signing the pardon, the president cited “tremendous racial tension” during the time Johnson was champion. “He really represented something that was both very beautiful and very terrible at the same time,” Trump said.

Actor Sylvester Stallone, famous as the star of the “Rocky” boxing-movie franchise, and former world heavyweight boxing champion Lennox Lewis flanked Trump for the pardon in the Oval Office. In April, Trump tweeted that he was considering the pardon after talking to Stallone.

Earlier on Thursday, Stallone posted a photo of himself at the White House on Instagram with the caption “Waiting for the moment to go into the oval office for the pardon...”

In the Oval Office, Trump said of Stallone: “I love his movies.”

“This has been a long time coming,” Stallone said, adding that Johnson served as the inspiration for the character of Apollo Creed in the Rocky movies.

Van Jones Heaps Praise on Trump After Meeting on Prison Reform

By Cortney O'Brien |Townhall

Last week President Trump announced plans to embark on prison reform. Trump's senior adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner is leading the effort.

They find themselves with an unlikely ally in the effort - CNN's Van Jones.

Jones was the first to admit the "surreal" experience of sitting across from President Trump at the White House after "beating up" on him for so long. Still, he agreed with everything the president said at the prison reform summit, he told CNN Monday.

"On this issue he has been tough," Jones said of Trump.

Included in Trump's proposal are steps to improve conditions for women in prison, to offer prisoners more privileges, and to smooth the process of releasing prisoners back into society.

"Prison reform is an issue that unites people from across our political spectrum," Trump said. "It’s an amazing thing. Our whole nation benefits if former inmates are able to re-enter our society adds productive, law-abiding citizens."

Trump showed a compassion for prisoners "the most liberal Democrat would have agreed with," Jones noted.

He said this despite being teased a bit by Trump during the president's prepared remarks.

The Problem Solvers Caucus, a bipartisan group of 48 lawmakers, has endorsed the prison plan.

How great would it be if on this issue, they could work together to "help the least of these," Jones asked during his CNN appearance.

"Send a bill to my desk," Trump told his audience on Friday. "I will sign it."

White House Email Blast: Here's What You Need to Know About MS-13 Animals

By Katie Pavlich|Townhall

In a span of 24-hours last week the media and Democrats falsely accused President Trump of calling illegal immigrants "animals" during a White House meeting. Some, but not all, corrected their stories after full context of his remarks were revealed.

The president was referring to the transnational criminal street gang MS-13 as animals, which was obvious and correct at the time.

White House Press Secretary was inevitably asked about the issue during a briefing last week.

"The president was very clearly referring to MS-13 gangs members who enter the U.S. illegally and whose deportations are hamstrung by our laws," Sanders said. "This is one of the most vicious, and deadly gangs that operates by the motto of 'rape, control and kill.' If the media and liberals want to defend MS-13, they're more than welcome to. Frankly, I don't think the term the president used was strong enough."

"MS-13 has done heinous acts. It took an animal to stab a man 100 times and decapitate him and rip his heart out.

It took an animal to beat a woman they were sex trafficking with a bat 28 times, indenting part of her body.

And it took an animal to kidnap, drug and rape a 14-year-old Houston girl," she continued. "Frankly, I think that the term animal doesn't go far enough and I think the President should continue to use his platform and everything he can do under the law to stop these types of horrible, horrible, disgusting people."

Now, the White House is tripling down and sent out an email blast Monday morning detailing the heinous behavior of MS-13 members.

WHAT: The violent animals of MS-13 have committed heinous, violent attacks in communities across America.

Too many innocent Americans have fallen victim to the unthinkable violence of MS-13’s animals.

THE SAVAGE FACTS:

At the State of the Union in January 2018, President Trump brought as his guests Elizabeth Alvarado, Robert Mickens, Evelyn Rodriguez, and Freddy Cuevas, the parents of Nisa Mickens and Kayla Cuevas.

Police believe these young girls were chased down and brutally murdered by MS-13 gang members on Long Island, New York, in 2016. Suffolk County Police Commissioner stated that the “murders show a level of brutality that is close to unmatched.”

In Maryland, MS-13’s animals are accused of stabbing a man more than 100 times and then decapitating him, dismembering him, and ripping his heart out of his body. Police believe MS-13 members in Maryland also savagely beat a 15-year-old human trafficking victim. The MS-13 animals used a bat and took turns beating her nearly 30 times in total.

In Houston, Texas, two MS-13 members were charged after kidnapping and sexually assaulting one girl and murdering another. The two MS-13 animals laughed, smiled, and waved for cameras in court as they faced the charges.
New York communities have suffered tremendously from the abhorrent violence of MS-13. Nearly 40 percent of all murders in Suffolk County, New York between January 2016 and June 2017 were tied to MS-13.

In January 2017, MS-13 members were charged with killing and hacking up a teenager in Nassau County. MS-13’s animals reportedly saw the murder as a way to boost their standing in the gang. In April 2017, police believe four young men were brutally murdered by MS-13 animals on Long Island. One victim was a young man in town visiting family during an Easter week vacation. Just last month, in April 2018, MS-13 reportedly called for its members on Long Island to kill a cop for the sake of making a statement.

WHY: MS-13 is a transnational gang which follows the motto of “kill, rape, control” by committing shocking acts of violence in an attempt to instill fear and gain control.

MS-13 is a transnational gang that has brought violence, fear, and suffering to American communities. MS-13, short for Mara Salvatrucha, commits shocking acts of violence to instill fear, including machete attacks, executions, gang rape, human trafficking, and more. In their motto, the animals of MS-13 make clear their goal is to “kill, rape, control.” The gang has more than 10,000 members in the United States spreading violence and suffering.

Recent investigations have revealed MS-13 gang leaders based in El Salvador have been sending representatives into the United States illegally to connect the leaders with local gang members. These foreign-based gang leaders direct local members to become even more violent in an effort to control more territory.

President Trump’s entire Administration is working tirelessly to bring these violent animals to justice.

Animals, indeed.

As a reminder, Democrat and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is defending them.
------

Unbelievable... Pelosi straight up defending MS-13.

"Does he not believe in the spark of divinity, the dignity and worth of every person? Calling people animals is not a good thing."
-----
