Smollett: Justice for a Lying Leftist

By  Tiffany Layne | The Black Sphere

I didn’t watch any of the Jussie Smollett trial. Mainly because I find him very boring. But I did find a few interesting tidbits in the news surrounding the trial.

For example, he apparently didn’t just hire two Nigerian American brothers to beat him up and pour bleach on him while pretending to be white Trump supporters. He also spent a little extra-curricular time with his fair weather friends.

According to Vice:

Jussie Smollett finally took the stand in his bizarre trial Monday and testified that he once masturbated with one of the men he’s accused of hiring to attack him for attention.

Smollett said it all went down during a visit to a bathhouse with Abimbola Osundairo, one of the two brothers Smollett is accused of paying to beat him up, yell racist slurs, and pour bleach on him in January 2019.

“We went alone, we got a private room again,” Smollett recalled in the courtroom Monday, according to Chicago Tribune reporter Jason Meisner. “We made out a little bit, and this time we masturbated together.”

Smollett also testified that after he met Osundairo at a club, they made out and did drugs during a different bathhouse interaction in Boystown, the Chicago Tribune reported.

The ex-Empire star’s testimony built on the defense’s line of questioning last week, when one attorney for Smollett dramatically asked Osundairo, a major witness for the prosecution, when he’d started dating Smollett. Osundairo said he never did.

Smollett, who has pleaded not guilty to six counts of disorderly conduct, is accused of orchestrating his own attack and roping in the brothers because he was upset at how the show handled a threatening letter he received to the studio. But Smollett has repeatedly maintained that the attack was “no hoax,” including on the stand Monday, and his attorneys have sought to show jurors the brothers are untrustworthy and possibly homophobic.

In other words, the black card failed. The Trump card failed. So might as well take a stab at the gay card. But for once, a Hollyweird leftist failed to pull off his wildly concocted scheme.

Bottom of Form

And this time, Smollett will face true justice, in the form of cold hard cash.

GUILTY

Personally, I’ve been anticipating the guilty verdict. It seems juries are on their A-game lately. First, Rittenhouse was freed. And now, Smollett will pay the piper.

According to CNN, Smollett exposed himself to jail time with his own testimony.

A Chicago jury found Jussie Smollett guilty of five counts of disorderly conduct for making false reports to police that he was a victim of a hate crime in January 2019.

A disorderly conduct charge for a false crime report is a Class 4 felony and punishable by up to three years in prison and a $25,000 fine.

However, CNN legal analyst Joey Jackson said the judge could give the former “Empire” actor probation, but added that Smollett, “exposed himself to jail time,” when he testified in court.

“When you testify in a case, the judge now gets a sense of what you said,” Jackson told CNN. “What Jussie Smollett said was resoundingly rejected by that jury. The jury did not buy what he was selling. That’s not lost upon a judge. You came into the courtroom and fabricated.”

Laura Coates, a former federal prosecutor, agreed with Jackson, saying Smollett’s testimony was a “miscalculation” by the defense team.

“So him taking the stand lead to his exposure in the way Joey has spoken about,” Coates said. “A judge is now looking at you, taking everything you had to say and assessing it.”

Special prosecutor calls the jury’s verdict a “resounding message”

Special prosecutor Dan Webb held a news conference following the five guilty verdicts against Jussie Smollett, calling the jury’s decision “a resounding message.”

“That verdict was a resounding message by the jury that, in fact, Mr. Smollett did exactly what we said he did,” Webb said.

Next up: the Sentencing. Bring on the pain!
