Celebrating African American Resilience and Excellence Across Generations: Featured Legacy Maker Marie M. Daly

MARIE M. DALY (1921-2003) was a Biochemist who became the first African American to obtain a Ph.D. in chemistry in the United States. She completed her doctorate at Columbia University and discovered the relationship between high cholesterol and heart disease.

This featured legacy maker and additional biographies can be found in my award-winning book STEM Pioneers and Visionaries: A Compendium of African American Innovators and Inventors in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics available on Amazon.

This book is invaluable for educators, students, and enthusiasts eager to explore the rich tapestry of African American excellence in STEM fields.
